Work in your 60s: Stories of change
November 11, 2026
Online or Central Hall, Westminster
Doors open 2.30pm. Event 3-5pm
About the event
Work and retirement are changing. More people are facing individual choices about how and when to retire. Some are finding new ways of working later in life, whether through flexible working, career changes or self-employment. For others there are fewer choices, or visible routes to change. This event will explore the real experiences of how people are navigating these changes, their motivations and what we can learn from them. We’ll showcase new research based on real people’s stories of work in their 60s and what barriers were overcome and how making changes later in their careers related to their finances, pensions and plans for retirement. Drawing on new research and expert insight, we'll consider how employers, policy makers and the pensions industry can respond to the changing nature of what work and life looks like in our 60s today.
