    About The Great Pensions Singalong

Standard Life, Sackers and ISIO have launched the Great Pensions Singalong bringing our industry together in a relaxed and uplifting way for charity and we are delighted to invite colleagues from across the pensions industry to join us.

The first event took place on 8 May and was focussed on classical music and our second event, taking place on Friday 9 October, will be pop classics.

No formal singing experience needed - just enthusiasm!

    Timings:

    • Registration and lunch from 1pm
    • Singing from 2pm
    • Tea & coffee break 3.45pm
    • Rehearsals conclude 5.30pm with wine
    • Optional informal performance 6pm

    Charitable donation:

This event will also be in support of Carers UK, who support, advocate for, champion and connect carers across the UK, so that no one has to care alone. As well as providing a wealth of support for carers, Carers UK also campaign for lasting change. Donate here.

Find out more about the work of Carers UK here.

If your organisation would like to get more involved in the Great Pensions Singalong, please contact us at events@standardlife.com.

An afternoon of singing, connection and community

Join colleagues and peers from across the pensions industry for an uplifting afternoon of group singing, guided by professional musical director, Joanna Forbes L’Estrange.

Together, you’ll be singing a selection of tracks - and if you’d like - take part in a relaxed early evening run-through. You're also welcome to invite friends and family to watch the evening performance.

    What to Expect

    • Fun vocal warm‑ups
    • Learning 2-3 tracks
    • Optional informal evening performance
    • Excellent catering and a fun chance to connect with industry peers!

    Who can take part?

Anyone working in pensions or insurance - all roles, all levels, all organisations.

No formal singing experience is required, though an ability to sight‑read may help you feel more at ease. Enthusiasm is far more important than expertise.

    Why join?

At Standard Life, Sackers and ISIO, we believe in creating opportunities that bring people together, support wellbeing and strengthen our wider community. This event is a chance to connect with peers across the industry, try something different, and contribute to a meaningful cause - all while enjoying a rewarding and memorable experience.

    Bonus performance opportunity in Liverpool

Are you attending the Pensions UK Annual Conference the following week? We have an exciting extra opportunity for Singalong participants.

Pensions UK has invited our Pensions Choir to perform a short 15-minute set as part of its Night at the Museum event on the evening of Wednesday 14 October. We'll be opening the evening with a relaxed and fun performance from approximately 7.45pm to 8.00pm, as delegates arrive from 7.30pm.

We're hoping to bring together a choir of 20+ singers and would love as many Singalong participants as possible to join us. It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase what we've achieved together and perform in front of colleagues from across the pensions industry.

Participation is entirely optional and is not required to attend the Great Pensions Singalong itself. If you're interested in taking part, please let us know when registering.
